There is nothing more exciting than seeing a child flourishing in confidence and ability through adventures in learning

Recognising the uniqueness of each child, our progressive curriculum is designed to help every child achieve their full potential by meeting their interests, accounting for appropriate developmental stages and to channel their individual abilities.

Our approach is underpinned by the high scope principle of supporting children’s learning through play. Helping children to develop language, self esteem and confidence as they begin to learn and understand the world around them. An approach which is also central to the Government Early Years Foundation stage curriculum which we follow. This ensures each child develops numeracy, literacy and social skills in addition to reaching specific learning goals ahead of school.

From the day your child joins us until their final day our aim is to provide an early years experience which is happy, exciting, challenging, fun and secure with a learning journey tailored to their individual needs.

Babies and Toddlers

During the first two years of your child’s life – their experiences play a fundamental role in the ‘hard wiring’ of the brain, laying the foundation for all intellectual and emotional development to follow.

Thoughtfully planned activities and safe spaces provide your child with the opportunity to explore sensory areas both indoors and out. A rich, stimulating curriculum supporting the youngest active learner with physical development balanced with books, stories and songs providing the opportunity to explore first words and sounds.

Two-Three's

As your child transitions into the more physical and independent world of pre-schoolers, they will be exploring their powers of communication, asserting their independence and learning to control their important bodily functions. Understanding all that this brings in terms of shifting moods, interests and capabilities our staff provide calm and consistent care to support their development.

Pre School

Children at this age are becoming increasingly fascinated by the world around them. Through varied and purposeful play, pre-school children are encouraged to interact within their world and with each other to develop key problem solving skills, to be able to work with others, communicate, build self-confidence and initiative in readiness for their next leap into school.

Whether independently dressing themselves for garden time, mark making, retelling stories to their friends, enjoying rhyming and songs or using containers in water play – children are building a solid foundation for their further learning in reading, writing, mathematics and science.

Our nurseries

Each of our Southsea nursery buildings are unique in their own way, but all are fun, safe and with great outdoor spaces just waiting to be explored.
