Welcome to Yarborough Road Day Nursery and Pre-School, our first location in Southsea which opened over 22 years ago. Complimented by a strong and experienced team of Early Years practitioners who are all qualified in ensuring your child is well cared for whilst inspiring them as they actively learn through both indoor and outdoor play. Children enjoy a safe, warm and homely environment with dedicated spaces for babies through to 5 year olds.

We believe in encouraging children’s natural curiosity through exciting, fun and challenging learning experiences, inspiring children to actively learn whilst making wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

Our building

Recently refurbished with purpose built modifications, the Nursery is located in a spacious and airy Victorian house with wonderful high ceilings and large windows. Four separate rooms with designated art areas, quality natural sensory resources to inspire children’s learning. And when it’s time to rest and recharge our dedicated quiet areas provide a peaceful space to relax.

Each location enjoys a mature cottage garden with established fruit trees and stimulating play areas providing a safe outdoor space for children to grow plants, herbs and food, discover wild life and enjoy challenging play.

Under Two’s

A secure, cosy and self contained space where babies and toddlers supported by constant care from our qualified staff,  allowing children to develop and progress at their own pace as they also grow in confidence.

Both indoor and outdoor spaces include sensory stimulation providing new sights and sounds to stimulate the senses and a cosy corner to cuddle in.

Babies continue their nursery journey in this calm and nurturing environment. Providing plenty of space to crawl and explore along with new sights and sounds to stimulate the senses and a cosy corner to cuddle in.

Over Two’s

A fun and vibrant space to play and learn. Children can explore a variety of creative resources, sensory activities and enjoy stories and rhyme to encourage communication. And when they’ve burnt off energy playing in the custom designed garden, children can dream about their next big adventure in our comfortable sleep area.

Based around daily routines with carefully selected resources designed to satisfy and develop the most inquisitive of minds. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to be challenging and exciting – covering all areas of healthy, active learning. Through adult initiated child led activities, children have the opportunity to develop key skills, build self-confidence and initiative in readiness for their next leap into school.
